My activities today:
- Work 10am to 5pm
- Read 2 topics (Emergency contraception and Dukoral)
- Put away last night’s dishes
- Washed dishes (while listening to Jim Rohn)
Today is another conscious effort in choosing to be my better version. As soon as I got home, I set an alarm for 1 hour to read some work related topics. These are 2 questions that I encountered today and I wanted to review them. It was hard to keep still and wait for 1 hour before doing anything else, but I did it.
I will try if I can be consistent with this. After every shift, I should set aside at least 30 minutes to read even just 1 topic that I encountered that day. I usually work 4 days a week, so if I read 1 topic after work, I will be able to read 96 topics. Not bad. Will see if I can do it.
AVOIDANCE TENDENCY. I realized this about myself earlier today. I had different things that needed to be done at work but I can sometimes get stuck in my head overthinking what to do next. Instead of actually moving and start doing. I get stuck debating what is the very best thing to do. Instead of just doing the next most urgent task. So, today, it was an effort to really get myself to move on to the next urgent task and do 1 thing at a time. I know I am improving because I am now always presented with two ways to proceed and I am almost always successful in choosing to behave as my better self.
