My activities today (Day off #2):
- Cooked pork sinigang (a Filipino sour soup)
- Chopped ingredients for egg bites
- Went with my brother to the mall to take a video of Santa for my niece
- Went grocery shopping with my brother
- Returned a book to the library
- Ate Meditteranean take out food in the car with my brother
- Washed the dishes
- Put away the dishes
- Phone conversation with 2 of my friends
REALIZATION:
I wore a new pair of pants today and it made me feel like a different person. I looked good in it, it made me look younger and it definitely made me more confident. Then I realized, if I want to have a new identity and be a better version of myself, I need to change the clothes that I’ve been wearing. Coz if I keep wearing my old clothes, it will subconsciously remind me of my old identity. It will make me feel like I have always felt. If I change my clothes, it will be a reminder that I am a new person, and I can embody my new identity. Whereas, if I continue using my old clothes, it will come with the memory of my old self. I know this might sound superficial but I want to give it a go. Me and my sister have been going to thrift stores and we’ve been lucky to find good brands at very affordable prices. So, for this coming year, 2025, I will donate my old clothes and get new ones.
